Hotel

Built in the early 16th century, it is considered the old manor-house of the city.

It shows Manueline windows and battlements, as one can see the enlargements of the end of the 16th century. Inside are some elements of the 16th and 17th centuries, especially the majestic staircase in granite. It was renovated in the 90’s to install a Hostelery, nowadays a Hotel.
At the lobby of the Hotel, you can find one of the largest filigree windows of the country due to a partnership with I’m Art.
The art of filigree, mainly inspired in a baroque forms, was developed in the XIX century in the Minho Region. The technique that is passed from generation to generation allows these wires, either silver or gold, although tey are as thin as hair, to be welded together perfectly. The jewels are all handmade and they are carefully combined between the “filigraneiras” women and the workshops.
